I love summer time! And when I say I love summer time, I mean I love the warmth (not too warm though, I love me a good 50-70 degree day), love the grass everywhere, the green trees, the blossoming flowers, the soft warm breezes, the sounds of little children playing in the park, nice casual strolls down the streets, I love all the goods that come with this beautiful time of the year.
Well, one thing that always comes to my mind with summer is fun summery dresses! I love dresses, especially happy flowery ones (in fact I have been caught wearing them in the winter too, flowers are such a fun happy thing that should be worn all year!) So long story short- on this WE-flecting Wednesday, here are some dresses that I made in my past years, and who knows maybe if I squeeze it into my schedule I just might make myself and my little girl some more dresses this summer! Anyway, hope you enjoy...
Another sister helped me make this dress, I love this dress and I can't wait to get to wear it again soon (dresses don't go well with nursing my little girl- not that you needed those details :) Sorry it isn't the best view, but the picture below kinda gives you another angle look at it
Here is the back of the above dress. Yes, I am being lazy and using old pictures instead of just pulling these lovely things out of my closet and just taking better pictures- sorry, but hope you can still enjoy! :)
Remember me sharing this picture back in venture #25 about my second hair cut? Well I also made the dress in the picture for a bridesmaid dress for a good friend of mines wedding. To give a better look at it, I have another picture below of the full shot...
Again, apologies for being lazy and having weird pictures, if it is too disturbing, just try to enjoy the dress :) And FYI, I wasn't getting arrested or even being pulled over, the friendly cop helped us change our flat tire- I promise!
See! Happy flowery dresses- doesn't it just make you happy and want to be outside and enjoy the warmth? Well that is actually exactly what I was doing in this picture- enjoying a nice (random) lovely walk with my roommates at the time.
Here is the same dress as above but worn differently, instead of an undershirt like above, in this one I wore an over jacket thing (I have no idea what they are called, but I am sure they have some kind of fancy name). See, even more flowery happiness, it just made us fall more in love (FYI, my husband wasn't REALLY proposing in this picture, we were just playing for the camera!)
This dress is an all time classic domestic venture sort of dress. The shiny dress underneath is the lovely dress my mother made me- recognize it from my mentionings of it back in Venture #19 about clothes my Mother made me? Well it is the one I wore for my sister's wedding and also the same dress I wore to a dance with my husband while being super preggo. Well I also spiffed it up here for another dance (but back in the single days) The top part was a sheet I got from a thrift store, and the lace was from a curtain I got there as well. The elastic around my elbows and waist is from the fitted corners of the sheet- I was very excited about this little creation- what do you think?
See- more flowery happiness- this actually was taken shortly after my husband REALLY proposed to me- flowers and marriage thoughts must go well for me!
I know I have already mentioned my wedding dress back in Venture #13 in introducing my little girls blessing dress, but I just had to mention it again. After all that hard work I couldn't help but show it off a little more. You only get one chance to wear the fancy thing (well I guess sometimes its more than one chance), but you can have a million opportunities to show it off through pictures, so there- here's my wedding dress again!
And isn't he such a stud muffin? Not that I want you looking at my hubby cuz he's all mine!
And last but not least, I know this doesn't entirely have a ton to go along with this post, but remember when I shared this skirt that I made for my mother back in Venture #19, well in looking through my pictures I actually found one where she was actually wearing it for her last birthday on this earth:
Isn't she so beautiful (sorry it is blurry)? That was such a nice day- and yeah for more flowery happinesses. Flowers always make things feel and be a little happier!
Well anyway, that's that for these dresses of my past makings, hope you enjoyed and thanks for stopping by. Hope you have a wonderful day and ....
Until next time.....
Cute dresses! You are quite the seamstress!!
