On this lovely fun find Friday I will share a little find I got a couple of weeks ago, but was finally able to use it last week. I found this greatness off of the college's bulletin board (which is a safer, yet similar to craigslist)- if you haven't got it from me yet- I love to be cheap (cheap as in low money, not so much as in quality), and going used is a great option!!
I found this lovely find for a whoppin $25!! Ye-ha! I googled "bike trailers" and the cheapest I could see was $80, and that didn't include shipping and the eighty dollar one looked kinda cheap (as in quality this time), at least the tires did, and the nicer ones were going as high as $250 or more. This lovely bike trailer can "safely" seat two kids (the lady I got it from said she would sometimes squeeze more if the neighbor kids wanted to go for some fun joy rides), and it can also be used as a "jogger" sort of stroller- which I finally got to put into use this last weekend (because the weather finally chirped up for us!)!
It has the lovely plastic windows on the sides and can have one on front in case it could be raining or too windy or all that. It has the lovely pockets on the inside as well- I am super excited!! Doesn't it look so snazzy( I also love the bright primary colors on it- makes seem so happy)! I am so excited for it, and we are gonna have our first lovely family bike riding adventure tomorrow (prob just a lap in the park, since I am not sure our little girl is totally ready for this).Want to hear about my fun adventures with it last weekend? Well good, cuz I wanted to tell you anyway. My husband had to work last Saturday, thus my "Sun Up Saturday." But we had signed up for Bountiful Baskets (another amazing thing, maybe I will chat about it another day), and if you have children then you know how this can be a little tricky (especially if your children can't walk and all that). I couldn't very well leave her in the car while I waited in line for my bundle, but it would be near impossible to get my bundle with my little girl in hand and then still carry the load of food. I racked the different options in my mind till I finally came to the brilliant idea of using this handy stroller! She could still be in the seat, I wouldn't have to carry her, and I could still load my basket and then put the food in the other "child's seat" of the stroller and it would work great (so it did in my mind!).
Well I also heard about an AMAZING sale at a local second hand store called Mommy and Me, anything out in a certain area was 25 cents a piece- oh ya! I definitely needed to check this thing out, especially since Addie is slowly going into the next sizes and prob could use some more variety. So I planned it all out perfectly- I would leave about an hour before my bountiful basket pick up to check out this sale and get some goods and then pick up my basket on the way home.
Well, we did just that, so far so good. I approach the lovely store and they completely surprised me, there was SO much goodness, I got carried away, I ended up getting 33 items for my little girl ranging from shirts, pants, shoes, PJ's, all sorts of good- all adding up to $8, I was so excited!! Except I started giving myself a little problem- my once so roomy bike trailer was already starting to full up- yikes!
So then I headed to the bountiful basket pickup location, and there was so much food (yeah for lots of yummy food, but yikes on having room for it all!). I also ordered a tortilla pack which gave me 6 dozen flour and 3 dozen corn tortillas (yum!), and I was also getting a basket for a friend...hmm..ya maybe I underestimated a little.
Long story short, I ended up have a really full stroller, but no more room for my little girl- opps! So I walked home (good thing I decided to walk instead of bike- otherwise I really don't know what I would have done with my girl!) with a full trailer pushing on one hand and my little girl held on one hip with the other hand- it was by far the best workout I got all week (luckily my house wasn't too far from the pick up location! :) Yes, maybe I went a little over my head on this endeavour, but it was fun, it was unique, and it is OVER- I prob wont do that again- ESPECIALLY if my husband is working (prob wasn't the brightest to do this all on a weekend he couldn't help me).
So long story short of this whole post- I found a lovely trailer, that is pretty sweet and it makes me happy! Yeah for tools that help us be more active!
On another smaller side bike note, look what I also found on bulletin board for super cheap:
This lovely basket for only $3 (cheapest I saw online was $9). So I store even more goods while we go out on our little adventures (now we just need to actually GO on little adventures!).
And on one more final random fun note, look at this lovely yum my husband brought home to me after one night after work:
He's too sweet! |
Two of my greatest weaknesses- super dark chocolatete (oh so good!!) and root beer barrels (love that it gives the flavor without the nasty carbonation- I hate soda!) |
Anyway, hope you have a lovely happy Friday! Thanks for stopping by and see you all next week!
Until next time!...
I always wanted a bike trailer like that...but now my kids are old enough to ride with me. Very cute!
ReplyDeleteawesome finds! I got a bike trailer a couple years ago and I LOVE it! I wasn't able to really use it last summer since Lacey was too small, but this year we have already used it a bunch. I take the girls in the trailer while me and Shazer ride bikes to go visiting teaching, to the park, library, or just around the neighborhood. LOVE it! oh, and speaking of good deals, I got the trailer and bike together for $50! awesome, huh? by the way, the egg looks like a robin egg to me...
